Many of you might already know this because of our posts on Facebook, but in case you haven’t seen them, meet Rafael. He is a 4 year old boy that fell off a two story cliff on February 6th and hurt himself pretty bad. His face was heavily bruised and he broke his femur. We found out about it on the 7th and quickly reacted. After the x-rays confirmed the broken femur in the growth plate, we knew he would be never be able to walk correctly again unless we did something about it! After gaining permission from his parents, we took him to a private hospital 2 hours away from his home and they put a full leg cast on him. He will have to stay in this cast for six weeks.
Today, he is doing great! His face is completely healed and his cast is still in good shape. Here, he is all smiles because our partner, Radical Missions, brought a wagon that he can be pulled around in. His big sister came along to help take care of him while he visited us in the clinic. This next week, March 11th, he will turn 5 years old.
