Julio & Rachel

Serving children suffering from extreme generational poverty as the Directors of GSG's Next Generation Ministry.

Julio and Rachel’s story is a beautiful blend of love, faith, and a shared passion for helping others. They met through their church, sparking a connection that led to their marriage in 2009. At the time, Julio owned a butcher shop in Santiago, Sacatepéquez, while Rachel was deeply involved in her church work in Guatemala City. Alongside her church duties, Rachel also dedicated her time to running two children’s clubs in rural villages.

Julio’s heart for service extended beyond his business. He later took on a role at a local orphanage, where he managed a pig and chicken farm to help provide food for the children. Rachel, originally from the UK and a former primary school teacher, has been living in Guatemala for over 28 years. Together, their lives have been a testament to their commitment to their faith and community. Their sending church, Salem Chapel in Bristol, has been a significant support in their journey.

In 2022, Julio and Rachel joined the God Said Go team, taking on leadership of the ministry’s Future Generation program. They are passionate about supporting children’s workers in rural villages, many of whom have limited resources. Julio and Rachel work tirelessly to provide Bible themes, teacher’s guides, Bible pictures, and other essential materials to these churches. Additionally, they run a sponsorship program aimed at helping young people graduate from high school, empowering the next generation to reach their full potential.

Their work is not just about providing resources; it’s about nurturing hope and building a brighter future for the communities they serve. Julio and Rachel’s dedication and love for what they do shine through in every aspect of their ministry, making a lasting impact on the lives of many.
