More Ways To Give

create a legacy by giving hope for the future

Serving as a Sender

The missionary endeavor can be a costly one. When Jesus gave the charge to go and make disciples of all nations, he knew more than anyone what it would require. The cost for those who have answered this call has been borne out through the ages in acts of self sacrifice, hard work, and even suffering. And the cost to the Church, no less a sacrifice, has been in faithfully sending and supporting these workers for the harvest.

Some of this support structure is found in ministries like GSG, which provide vision and direction as well as a variety of practical, logistical, and spiritual help to a missionary on the field. But the task of specifically and sacrificially praying for and financing missionary work is ultimately a responsibility, and privilege, of the Church. This is a Biblical model and largely how missions is still done today.

GSG missionaries, likewise, depend month to month and year to year on networks of congregations and individual Christians who commit to be prayer and financial partners – people who may not themselves be called to move to Latin America, but who choose to be a part of God’s provision for the sending of another.

Practically, this may simply mean donating online each month or taking time out of a busy schedule or church program to pray. But partnership is so much more. Supporting a missionary means that you take ownership in the people and the ministry their work represents. Both the trials and the triumphs are yours too. You’ll be more compelled to pray when the news is hard. More joyful when it’s good. You’ll get to know an individual or a family more intimately because you’ll have journeyed together through something unpredictable and wonderful. The missionary will become your hands and feet to serve God’s purposes in a far-away land, and you will become to them a manifestation of God’s faithfulness and provision. Your vested friendship will lend affirmation to their calling, accountability to their work, and encouragement to their hearts.

Missionary support, offered up in prayers and dollars, is really an investment in people – an investment in the missionaries themselves, but also in the people they are reaching. There is no price that can be placed on such an endeavor. In Latin America, a work may take five years or forty. It may require simple methods or complex and expensive ones. And it might cost more than just money – a reminder of why prayer is so vital.

Whatever the cost, the work of the Great Commission is worth it. And to be caught up in it – as those who go or those who support them – is a blessing beyond measure.

how matching gifts work

Many employers, from Fortune 500 companies to mom-and-pop shops, have programs that will match employee donations to GSG Missions. Some match dollar for dollar, while others will donate up to three times your original donation!

Numerous companies also match donations from spouses, retirees and board members. Some will even match the value of volunteer hours and non-cash gifts.

Match Your Donations in Three Easy Steps

1. Talk to someone in your Human Resources department to ask if they match gifts to charities. If not, you could ask if they are willing to start a matching-gift program.

2. Check the program guidelines to see if GSG is eligible to receive matching gifts from your employer. If it appears that GSG is not eligible, contact us so we can inquire about our eligibility. While some employers don’t match gifts to religious organizations, they will match gifts to GSG’s educational, medical, clean water or other health and human services.

3. Get a matching-gift request form from your HR department. If it’s an online form, just follow the directions to complete and submit it. If it’s a paper form, complete it and send it to: God Said Go, Matching Gifts, PO Box 2912, Grain Valley, MO 64029. We’ll handle the rest!

Your employer will send the matching donation directly to GSG, and we will apply it to the same project(s) as your original donation, unless that is not allowed by your employer.

The impact of your matched investment will multiply in God’s hands and touch many lives! We are grateful for your partnership in transforming communities through God’s love.

make an eternal difference

“Go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.”
Matthew 19:21 (NIV)

The average American’s net worth is comprised of 10 percent cash and 90 percent non-cash assets. But most people donate to the Lord’s work only through their cash assets—the smaller portion of their assets that must also cover living expenses. The God Said Go Foundation, as well as our planned-giving opportunities, provides a way for you to impact children suffering from generational poverty in Latin America through the non-cash assets with which God has blessed you.

The God Said Go Foundation is a ministry fund with The Signatry, a global Christian foundation and recognized leader in receiving, managing and liquidating non-cash donations such as stocks/bonds, IRA distributions, real estate, business interests, and restricted securities. GSG and Signatry handle the administrative burden of selling or managing donated assets for you and enable you to receive the full tax benefits for your gifts and eliminate capital gain tax.

How can you donate non-cash assets to the God Said Go Foundation?

Donating appreciated non-cash assets—either full or partial interests—usually provides you with a greater tax deduction than if you sell the assets first and then donate the proceeds. It allows you to give more to the work of the Lord for less cost while maintaining your needed cash flow. You can give non-cash assets during your lifetime or, with proper planning, upon your passing. Some non-cash donations can be structured to provide income to you and/or your loved ones for a period of time as well.

Non-cash donations include:

Stocks & Mutual Funds

Have you owned stock or mutual funds shares for more than a year that have appreciated in value?

Real Estate

Quite often the wealth with which God has blessed us comes in the form of real estate.

Estate & Asset Giving

By planning a gift through your overall financial and estate plans, you can do more to help children in poverty than you may have ever thought possible.

Crops & Livestock

While out in the field sowing a crop or herding cattle, you could be impacting eternity.

Business Interests

You can redirect all or part of the value of that ownership into bringing the love of God to people in Latin America.

Personal Property

What you no longer need can bring help and hope to the needy.

Cost-Free Giving

Check this out, ways you can help GSG's work that won't cost you anything more than you are already giving.

In addition to your RMD, you can gift a larger portion of your qualified retirement account to Compassion. In 2016, Congress instated the IRA Charitable Rollover, which allows IRA account owners to gift up to $100,000 from their account to a qualified charity in a calendar year.

Required Minimum distribution

Receive a charitable deduction while complying with IRS distribution guidelines.

At age 70 ½, IRS regulations require individuals with qualified retirement accounts to begin taking minimum withdrawals from their account, which is also known as Required Minimum Distributions (RMD).

To avoid the risk of a higher tax bracket, you can also gift your Individual Retirement Account RMD to charity. You’ll benefit when you receive a charitable deduction while supporting God Said Go’s mission to children suffering from extreme poverty.

To donate all or a portion of your RMD:

1. Contact your retirement administrator, notifying them you would like to donate your RMD directly to GSG Missions.

2. Your administrator will disperse the funds directly to GSG. This direct disbursement avoids federal tax on the RMD.
3. GSG Missions’ formal address and Tax ID below will be required to complete this transaction.

GSG Missions Inc.
1908 NW Willow Drive
Grain Valley, MO  64029
Tax ID: 84-4307639

4. Provide your administrator’s name and where you would like the funds to be designated to GSG.
