Week 40 – A Drawing For Me

We arrived in the village of Nuevo Mexico and walked into the church where we were going to hold the day’s clinic. While we were setting up, this little boy was sitting on a step drawing. I snapped his picture and went on my way getting ready for the clinic to start. A little later, once the clinic had started, I felt a tug on my pants and there was that little boy holding up a piece of paper. I took it as he smiled and walked away. I looked at the torn little piece of paper and it immediately brought tears to my eyes! He had drawn a picture for me of a few gringos holding a clinic with hearts on each corner, a perfect representation of why we do what we do, trying our best to show the love of Christ through acts of kindness. Please remember the sweet children of Nuevo Mexico, Escuintla, Guatemala in your prayers.

(I am the one in the ball cap, in case you were wondering. 🙂 )
